I think I bought my first thong about 15 years ago. I am not sure what prompted me to get it in the first place, but I would say this first thong did not do too much for me. I found it tight and restrictive. Regardless, something about it stuck with me. Maybe it felt transgressive, or somehow linked to something sexy, a feeling or look I wanted for myself. Even after this first disappointment, I continued to buy thongs from time to time over the next few years, usually at discount clothing stores. For those first attempts at wearing thongs, the feeling stayed the same; I wanted to like them more than I did.
And then I discovered the developing industry of men’s underwear online. These first thongs I purchased were made by very mainstream underwear producers, and were probably made to respond to an emerging trend or to see if they could fish out some new customers. Regardless, I understand now that they were not made with quality fabrics or with any sensitivity as to how thongs should be shaped, cut, and designed. Once I found some good thongs online, I finally understood what I was looking for in this first attempt.
A good thong should fit snugly, but not be at all binding or restrictive. They should be made with high-quality fabrics that hold their shape after multiple uses and washings. And they should be cut and shaped to fit a man’s body. There is also really no denying that recent developments in the fabric industry have brought great new things to underwear. I think good fabric for thongs is essential – I like them snug but not at all restrictive, with a smooth and sexy fit, but still with a bit of breathability to keep things feeling fresh and clean.
Once I found good thongs, tepidly they became part of my rotation. I might wear a thong once every 6-8 weeks, and most days I probably wouldn’t even wear them all day. I think much of this was mental, and it took me some time to overcome the inherent stigma many attach to men in thongs. But the industry kept growing, thongs kept getting better and better, and I finally understood that wearing them was important self-expression for me.
Today thongs make up about half my underwear draw. I don’t wear them every day, but I do every week. And I have come to appreciate them for a variety of uses and activities. The right thong is perfect for yoga, and I love to wear them while sleeping. Both my partner and I find them super sexy, so they are great for date night!
If you’ve never tried a thong, I would love to encourage you to try them out! They make me feel confident, sexy, and playful. I’ve been wearing thongs for 22 years. It started out by losing a bet to my girlfriend and had to wear hers everyday for a month. The first week was awfull. I found them very uncomfortable. She said they take some getting use to but then I’d love them. Week 2 I was going nuts trying to get use to them but I had to honor my losing the bet. Week 3 I began to think they’re not so bad but would be glad to get back into my boxers. Week 4 I realized just how comfy and supportive they were. At last the 30 days were up and I got my boxers back but she left some of the thongs in my drawer. After 2 days back in my boxers I went back to the thongs. I missed just how comfy they were and started wearing them again almost every day. That year for Christmas she bought me my own collection of mens thongs and I’ve never looked back. BA satin is now my favorite and I have trouble keeping her out of my thong drawer now. lol
I got my first pack of thongs in high school. Eventually started wearing higher quality brands. A lot of guys are scared to wear thongs. Whether they think they’ll be uncomfortable or think they’ll get teased. Once you give them a few tries and maybe try a few different kinds, they really end up being a great option to wear. They support really well, they’re comfortable, they feel sexy. I love them. They’re apart of my rotation now
I first wore a thong when I was about 12. My next door friend took one of his sister’s thongs and showed me. He let me keep them for days at a time and I would wear them. It wasn’t until my late teens and early adult life where I started buying my own thongs that were made for men. I would buy them online since really no stores carried them. I discovered Bodyaware and then Xdress and had no idea there were feminine thongs for men. I’m 24 now, and I married the girl I’ve been since I was 16. She doesn’t mind my thongs so I’m glad it’s worked out, cuz there are a ton of girls who would freak out if there boyfriend or husband wore thongs, especially feminine ones. Don’t let people stop you from wearing your thongs guys!!!
I bought my first thong when I was 16. I bought the Joe Boxer brand from K-mart. That started my obsession with male thongs. I wore them on and off throughout high school. When I went to college I really dove into wearing thongs 4-5 times a week. I’ve been wearing them regularly for over 17 years now. I’m married and the wife doesn’t mind one bit. I’m not shy about wearing them either, who cares it’s just underwear. Wear whatever makes you happy.
For many years I’ve almost exclusively worn thongs. I have a couple of tanga briefs, but rarely wear anything so big. The roots of my love of minimal underwear and swimwear go all the way back to college in the late 80’s when men’s fashion was rapidly changing, and brief underwear became more fashionable. I liked the tanga style and started to wear those for both underwear and swimwear. As boxers and boxer briefs became the norm I went the other way, choosing tangas and thongs wherever I could buy them, When internet shopping exploded and choices widened I found I could buy a variety of thong underwear styles and fabrics, and really haven’t looked back. I also wear thong swimsuits to the beach and pool on holiday, and love having a thong tan line! I only opt for a brief-style suit for public pool swims.
