Fall has arrived! The leaves are changing colors, the weather feels nice and brisk, and the pumpkin flavored foods and drinks are in abundance. It’s a grand time of year, for sure. With the change in seasons, does your choice in underwear change, as well? What we wear on the outside changes when the seasons change, so would it seem within the norm to also change the trends in underwear that we wear?
I’ve never really thought of this concept, but it seemed like an interesting way to think about underwear. Of course, if you live in snowy weather, thermals start to become your go-to undergarments. But if you live in more moderate temperatures, it’s not like you’d really NEED to change the style of underwear you wear, but throwing on a pair of long boxer briefs or something similar could help keep an extra bit of insulation for some more warmth. Not that I’ve tested this out, or anything…
Then you have to think about colors, because each season has specific colors! Would “Fall underwear” include shades of maroon and grey? Of course, only you and a select few people will actually SEE this underwear that’s supposed to be seasonal, but I’m thinking it could bring a sense of embracing fall fashion if every part of your outfit includes some form of fall fashion trends…right?
I could also be thinking into this far too much! Maybe since most people you encounter aren’t going to see the underwear, you can have a neon underwear party in your pants during fall and still feel like it’s setting fashion trends. I mean, I’d definitely want to get to know someone who had a unique sense of fashion, like that. It could also just be an afterthought, though. I imagine the average male just uses their underwear until it starts ripping and falling apart, so why change the type of underwear they wear during Fall if their current drawer full of underwear is still in tip-top shape?
It just seems like an interesting concept, to me. I’m very new to the world of specialty underwear and I wouldn’t think it’s unbelievable if someone told me “my underwear choices are seasonal.” I imagine everyone embraces their fashion in different ways, and brings in each season with different pairs of underwear. I mean hey, whoever gets to see their pair of Fall underwear might get all tingly inside to see that they go seasonal with their underwear.
I want to know what you think, though! Are you a “seasonal underwear” type of person? Does your style/color preferences in underwear change as the seasons change? Let me know in the comments!

I’m with you jo, layering, starting with a BA micro style with tights/capris under jeans is an ideal, flexible, solution for cold weather needs. Layering is practical and fun with BodyAware styles and is definitely enhancing my BA experience as I get better at it. Dressing down to a Spring Lace Panty or Dreamsickle String for example, is fun even mid-winter. Maybe even better!
I might option wearing skimpier undergarments in the wintertime, knowing that I’ll pull on some footless tights or stockings to keep warm. Personally, I prefer to go light, if I’m layering with tights or with workout capris, which are fantastic for lounging around (and are sold everywhere nowadays). I went to a late-season football game a few years back and my brother was worried I wouldn’t be prepared. Not a chance. I had two pairs of tights on beneath my jeans and ready to go. But my comfort all started with the skimpiest pair of underwear, to ensure I could move as needed.
I definitely wear lighter, smaller underwear in the summer (bikinis, thongs) and heavier, warmer options in the winter (trunks, boxer briefs, long johns). I can’t stand being too hot or too cold in general, and making smart underwear choices is part of dressing for the season.
Absolutely! I am very “seasonal” in my underwear choices. I work out in the elements, all year round, with times of very high and hard levels of physical activity, and times of many long hours sitting in a truck or on a machine. So having just the right combination of garments from head to toe, inside out, is very important to me. I have always worn “off the shelf” underwear varieties of different styles depending not only on the season, but also the nature of the job I am doing and the amount of support I require while trying to be comfortable. Finding the perfect balance of these things has so far been impossible, what’s available off the shelf just does not meet my needs or wants. As a relatively new Body Aware customer I have been VERY pleased with my two orders so far, and will be making more orders soon. I hold high hopes that B.A. can meet my year-round needs for comfort, style, and support, both at work and at play just as they have so far with the more “suited to summer” styles. I hope to see some fuller cut, longer legged, mid to heavier weight underwear coming available as the seasons change. If anyone can provide perfection in underwear, it’s B.A., And the best part is, they are made in U.S.A! I found B.A. by searching the web for “American made underwear”, because let’s face it, we make the best of everything right here at home. At first I was hesitant to pay the price for some pairs, but then I thought about the money I had wasted on other foreign made brands trying to find what I was looking for, and the pile of underwear I have at home I never wear. This and the fact of supporting an American company made B.A. seem like it was worth a try, my experiences so far have only confirmed that. Since my first order this summer I have been more cool, comfortable, supported, and felt sexier than I ever have in my life! These products beat the pants off of “going commando”! I would love to see some more fall/winter style and color options. Thank you Body Aware!
